6 Book Challenge

Perry Beeches Academy Trust has launched their first ‘cross schools’ challenge in partnership with Birmingham Community Libraries. All year 7 students across the Trust have been set the challenge of reading 6 books between now and the end of April 2014. There are prizes to be won and visits from authors are busily being planned for the winning school. Students have been given a ‘PB 6 Book Challenge card’ that they need to get stamped at one of the 39 Birmingham Libraries. Jennifer Startin, Community Librarian said ‘this is a great opportunity to encourage your friends and family to join in. Share with each other the books you have read, get to know the authors, foster the love of reading, once you start you cannot stop!’ Liam Nolan, Chief Executive Officer said this is the first of many challenges across the Academy Trust and I would encourage each and every year 7 student to participate. There are a wealth of different books in the libraries, have a day out at Birmingham Library – April is fast approaching so – families and friends of PB join forces and encourage our students to read!’
