Birmingham Schools Games Match report

On Thursday 7th February 2013 Perry Beeches Academy went to Moor Lane for the Level 3 Birmingham School Games, sponsored by Sainsbury’s; having successfully won the Level 2 tournament at Kingsbury School.

Our team was made up of Year 7 and Year 8 girls: Sinead, Maisy, Elle Mae, Elle, Sian, Ella, Toni and Kira.

Before the games there was an opening ceremony at the National Indoor Arena (NIA) and we took part in the opening parade.

Our first game was against King Edwards Sheldon and a great goal by Sian meant that we won the match 1-0.

Our second game was against tough opposition in Bishop Challoner and another fantastic goal from Sian meant that we won a tight game 1-0.

In our third game we beat a skilful John Willmott team, where Elle scored her first goal of the tournament and Sian also scored a superb strike in the back of the net, meaning that we won 2-0.

Finally, we played Golden Hillock and won comfortably, with fantastic goals from Sian, Ella and Ellie (2), which meant we won that game 4-0.

Having won our league, we made it into the final where we played Colmers School.  Team PB played brilliantly in the final and 3 goals from Sian meant we won the Birmingham School Games.
