A team of year 9 students ventured to the Lickey Hills on a cold wintery January day to help the Birmingham Trees for Life Campaign to plant trees. The students equipped with spades and gloves took a bag of 100 hazelnut trees and began digging. The Lord Mayor of Birmingham – Councillor Shafique Shah joined the local schools and he and the Lady Mayoress joined in with the mornings activities. As the morning came to a close the snow came down and students were able to look in the visitors centre and enjoy the snow.

Jane Edwards, BTFL Schools and Community Liaison Officer thanked the students for their valued contribution and said their work was very much appreciated. Students will be tree planting again in Pype Hayes Park in March.
