Brindley Place Visits
During 25th-27th February, 79 Year 10 pupils visited Brindley Place to collect fieldwork data as part of their controlled assessment on sustainable development. Apart from one cold and wet day, a good time was had by all. Pupils undertook fieldwork data techniques such as surveying land use, public questionnaires and pedestrian counts.
A special thanks must also go out to Pete Benton, environmental manager at Brindley Place, who took time out of his day to give students a guided tour around the estate. Here, pupils learnt about waste management as well as the plans to change all the street lighting to the more energy efficient LED lighting.
