Exploring Russell Group Universities
Last week 85 students from Year 8 and Year 10 had the privilege of visiting one of the UK’s top universities. The trip allowed students to gain an insight into Higher Education and the experience of what it is like to study at a Russell Group University.
Our students visited The University of Nottingham and experienced a guided tour of the university’s historic architecture, surrounding grounds and on-site student facilities. Furthermore, they followed a comprehensive itinerary to include academic taster sessions that explored the history of Che Guevara, a tour of the university’s theatre, art gallery and archaeology museum and a chemistry session that examined elements of the periodic table.
In addition to the academic taster sessions, students engaged in an interactive debating session lead by the university’s own Debating Society. A fascinating day for all.
