Fascinating discoveries at Cambridge Science Festival
Twelve of our Gifted and Talented Year 9 students were given the opportunity to explore the intriguing world of science at Newnham College, The University of Cambridge last week. Our students attended a number of enthralling lectures led by university academics, including a lecture on ‘Light and Colour’ and a workshop on ‘Alloys’. Our students learnt how to manipulate light and how it has transformed fields as diverse as medicine, communications and entertainment. Furthermore, our students explored through demonstrations, how changing the temperatures of alloys can dramatically change their properties. Our students were inspired and enthused by their experiences and were an immense credit to the school. Well done!
