Diverse. Dynamic. Delightful; on Thursday 20th March, Perry Beeches welcomed its annual Fashion Show. It was an amazing night to remember, presented by Shabnam Ubhi, Simran Mattu, Luke Sookdeo and Fariha Zaman, who dedicated their time and effort into the success of the night. They set a lively atmosphere among the audience from start to finish.
Many students in year 11 took part in the Fashion Show, whether they were performing, modelling or backstage helping to organise the overall event; a form of fundraising for their very own Prom. The catwalks consisted of African, Asian, Cocktail, Vintage and Prom, in order to represent this year’s theme of “all around the world”.
Alongside the catwalk, many talents within Year 11 were broadcasted, such as the performances from Jessica and Jodie – who opened the show with a breath-taking duet. Ayanna performed a stand out solo that had everybody up on their feet. Also, not only did the students perform, but our very own Mr Cullinan surprised the audience with a dynamic act which had everyone in hysterics. Then finally, the night concluded with a dance performance by a talented group of Year 11 girls, which celebrated the many cultures within the Perry Beeches community.
This year’s Fashion Show was a significant representation of student independence and teamwork, as they were able to organise the overall event with very little help. However, it could not have been done without the help of a group of exceedingly talented staff and members outside the Perry Beeches community. In particular, ‘Sonique Clothing’ and ‘Bride and Grooms’ who were kind enough to allow our models to use their clothing to represent an aspect of our chosen theme and also Walsall College whose Hair and Beauty volunteers did an amazing job at styling our models. With special thanks to James Ricketts and Andre Senior, Mrs Joyce, Miss Sagoo, Mrs Blackwood, Miss Dorset , Miss Ives (who helped to create a decorative atmosphere to set our show) and many more.
And of course, who could forget those who came to support our team by attending; the overall success of the night benefited greatly from each of their support. This was truly a night to remember.
