GCSE Outdoor Activities Residential- Rhos-y-Gwaliau, Wales 2014
The story so far.
Having arrived at the centre on Sunday afternoon students were plunged straight into activities. Students completed mountain walks, orienteering courses, rock climbing and Kayaking. Their excitement and enthusiasm shone through and there was a togetherness and motivation to succeed.
After this introductory period the following days have seen students learn rapidly. They have acquired new skills such as Belaying, smearing, and crimping. Students have had to lead groups and plan routes accurately. There have been numerous enjoyable moments such as Kayaking in the sea and climbing the Barmouth cragg.
The students have been working hard towards their first assessment grades and in the following days their attention will shift to their second activity area. The new activities they face will see more challenges, new life experiences and numerous success stories as they to continue to surprise themselves in their own personal achievements.
