Homelands Reading Project
On the 24th October 2013, a group of Year 7 students were very privileged to be going on a trip to Homelands. Homelands comprises of 58 flats. The residents are cared for and events are arranged for them by the very friendly staff.
After a warm welcome from all the staff we went into the lounge and met all the residents. It was a really good experience reading to the residents and talking to everyone. I was fortunate to learn many things whilst talking to them and I will benefit from these experiences in school and at home. It was very inspirational to hear how some of the residents lived their lives ‘back in the day’. It was a truly inspiring experience.
On behalf of Year 7, I would like to say a big “Thank You” to Miss Dorsett for organising this project and to everyone at Homelands for accommodating us.
We look forward to working with you again soon!
