Perry Beeches The Academy U15’s Vs Hamstead Hall U15’s

The boys played their first league game of the season away at Hamstead Hall on Thursday evening. We won the toss and chose to bowl, as we thought the dangerous bowling attack of Lunn, S Bogle, A Bogle, Ballagan, Parmer, Javed and Barnes would rip through the Hamstead batting order and we would have an achievable target to reach.  However, the Hamstead openers forged a good partnership and it soon became apparent that we would probably have to bowl our allocated 20 overs.

Hamstead scored a respectable but achievable score of 120 runs, giving us a target of 121 runs to win the game. A classy performance from our opening batsmen Lunn and S Bogle gave us the start that we needed.  Ballagan ripped up the text book with two outstanding, unorthodox strokes that went for four and then put all of his 4 foot frame into the next shot as he smashed it for 6.  The game came down to the last over where we needed 8 runs from 6 deliveries.   A quick single from Lgah gave us the run that we needed and the win that we came for.

A great effort from all of the boys, well done! We are top of the league!!!
