Perry Beeches visits Westminster for ‘Birmingham Day’.
On Tuesday 22nd October, eight of our Year 10 students; Niall Madourie, Denikah Gardner-Dixon, Madina Alizadah, Shaan Bhogal, Mohammed Zaman, Alexander Ttikkirou, Daniel Stirling and Charlotte Joyce represented the school on a trip to Westminster.
The event was called “Birmingham Day”, organised by Birmingham Edgbaston MP Gisela Stuart, the aim of the day was to “promote Birmingham’s business, industry and achievements”. Our students were there to talk about the Birmingham Baccalaureate as we are a pilot school for this new and exciting venture, to ensure young people in Birmingham have the skills employers look for when recruiting staff.
The students were a credit to the school and were true professionals when they were talking to the MP’s that came to the event, as well as being interviewed by BBC Radio WM, Central News, Midlands Today and the Birmingham Post. They also had the opportunity to experience seeing some of the sights of London and walk round the Houses of Parliament.
All students in Year 10 are looking forward to completing the Birmingham Baccalaureate and working with some of the big Birmingham employers.
