Proud to be Team PB!
On Thursday 19th November we celebrated why we are ‘proud to be PB’ at our annual awards evening, recognising the achievements and talents of our amazing students. We were honoured to be joined by lots of special guests and friends of the school at our Awards Evening.
We were extremely lucky to hear from our right worshipful Lord Mayor Raymond Hassall. During the late 1970s Ray became involved in politics. In 1990 he won the Perry Barr seat for the Liberal Democrat Party and has served continuously as a Councillor to the present day, more than 25 years. We were thrilled he could join us for the celebrations and to speak to our students and their families.
We were also proud to be joined by a representative from Birmingham Children’s Hospital, our chosen charity for last academic year. As a school we were able to present her with a cheque for £1895.39 which we hope will allow Birmingham Children’s Hospital care for even more children in our city.
On the theme of pride, Rhona Maxwell was honoured during the evening for her amazing service to the school. Rhona has helped thousands of young people within our community over the years whilst working here at school.
There were several performances throughout the evening including a dance performance, singing from the Year 10 singers and our Big Band. The performances filled us all with immense pride of the talent we have here at Team PB.
Our Head Boy, Head Girl, First Deputies and Deputies made us proud as this year in a twist to our usual awards evening, the presenters were our own students. Tommy and Kevvauna spoke passionately about why they are proud to be part of team PB and even gave us a tour of their school.
A night like this would not be possible if it were not for our very generous sponsors, to them all we say a massive thank you!
Awards Evening was a true celebration of our students and their achievements and left no one in any doubt as to how proud we are to be Team PB.
