The Three Peak Challenge
Staff from Perry Beeches The Academy and Perry Beeches II joined forces with Calshot School to undertake the 24 hour Three Peak trial on Saturday 4th – Sunday 5th June. This challenge involved walking up Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowden in 24 hours, a total of 27 miles and to the heady heights of 1334m!
At the beginning of this school year a lovely boy called Reece was sadly diagnosed with a germ cell tumour, a rare form of brain cancer amongst children. Reece is a lively, friendly and caring member of Calshot School and staff have enjoyed watching him grow and thrive since he was three years old. Reece, now a year six pupil, he is receiving amazing care and treatment from staff at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and by undertaking the Three Peak Challenge fundraised will go to them to support all of the amazing work they do.
At the end of November, after Reece’s current teacher had been to visit Reece in hospital and witnessed the incredible work the hospital carry out for poorly children, and decided the staff needed to set a challenge and raise some money in support of the charity.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much for all of your support!
