Earlier this month, eleven Year 8 Gifted and Talented Scientists were given the opportunity to participate in a number of informative and exciting Astronomy Workshops held at The Museum of the History of Science in Oxford. Sessions were delivered in conjunction with The University of Oxford’s Physics Department! Our students were given the chance to learn all about Galileo and the invention of the telescope. In addition to this, our students were given a tour of the Wetton Telescope and were provided with the opportunity to talk to graduate students about current research in Astrophysics. Furthermore, our students’ were tested on their knowledge and understanding when they were required to construct simple spectroscopes and use them to solve experimental problems! Well done to all students involved!
