PGCE

A PGCE course focuses on teaching skills and subject knowledge working alongside a HEI. To support the training of the HEI there is a 24 week minimum school placement in two different schools. Perry Beeches The Academy supports a range of HEI’s in delivering this programme.

How long does it take?

The PGCE take 12months from the time you start.

How much will it cost?

Applications cost £19 to submit and this is reimbursed if successful. There will be also an additional cost of tuition fees; these vary depending on the course and the HEI.

Is there any additional funding available?

Funding will be based on subject and degree classification. (Information available on TA website)

Where to complete?

Perry Beeches The Academy supports Newman University, Wolverhampton University, Birmingham City University, University of Birmingham, Worcester University and Robert Owen.

What qualifications do I need?

You must have a UK Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification, and must have achieved a standard equivalent to a GCSE grade C in mathematics and English.

How do I apply?

Applications are now accepted on the Graduate Teacher Training Registry website. However, prior to applying you need to have a school to support your application. Places are in high demand.

When should I apply?

Applications are accepted annually from September to June.
