The first planning group for ‘Santa Dash for Cash’ took place on Monday 30th September at Perry Beeches The Academy. Volunteer students from the school held the first meeting with Centre Manager Mark Burbridge to help plan the organisation of the fun run taking place between One Stop Shopping Centre and Perry Beeches The Academy on Monday 25th November 2013.
The run is aiming to raise money towards the purchase of a mini-bus with disability access for the school and other local charities. Over two hundred runners will be dressed as Father Christmas whilst completing the 3.2km route.
Students and staff are soon to start training for the Santa Dash in November and our planning teams of students are working with the Police and management at One Stop to ensure the day goes well. This is a great opportunity for us to be a part of the local community.
Mark Burbridge, Centre Manager, said “It was great to meet some of the students who’ll be working hard with us to make a success of the Santa Dash for Cash. I’m looking forward to the run, although I can’t promise I’ll be the first to cross the finish line, and hopefully we’ll help raise lots of money for Perry Beeches new mini-bus”.
