Perry Beeches The Academy and Higher Education Institution

On the School Direct Salaried Scheme, you can obtain qualified teacher status (QTS) whilst training and working in a paid teaching role. You will be employed by Perry Beeches and earn a salary, so this on-the-job programme is ideal if you want to become a teacher, but need to earn an income while you train.

Perry Beeches runs this programme in partnership with Birmingham City University and Newman University.

How long does it take?

The School Direct Salaried Scheme normally takes one school year, working full-time, to complete.

How much will it be cost?

The School Direct Salaried Scheme has no cost.

Is there any additional funding available?

The lead school will pay you a salary on the unqualified teacher pay scale.

Where to complete?

You can complete the School Direct Scheme through the Perry Beeches Academy Trust Cluster of schools and in partnership with Newman University.

What qualifications do I need?

You must have a UK Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum classification of 2:2, or equivalent qualification, and must have achieved a standard equivalent to a GCSE grade C in Mathematics and English.

In addition, you will need to have passed your Literacy and Numeracy Professional Skills tests.
