Literacy Reps

All students are working to develop and extend their working vocabulary, a skill which is necessary for all students in order to gain a higher grade pass at GCSE. To enable us to embed these core skills across the whole school, ensuring that they become a convention in writing across the curriculum, students are given improvements to words they already know through a literacy scheme that we like to call “Words of the Week”.
A Literacy Rep is identified in each form group. Their job is to ensure that they record all Words of the Week in student passports in addition to encouraging the use of the words during form time activities and across the curriculum. They communicate information about Words of the Week to all students and maintain any displays relating to their use within their form group.
