Teaching and Learning Team
The Teaching and Learning Student Voice Team currently consists of 45 trained students across all year groups 7- 11. The purpose of the Student Voice is to observe lessons and for the students to then give constructive feedback to our teaching staff. Staff can nominate students to become part of the team or students can express interest themselves. The team is truly representative of the school reflecting both sexes, all ages, races, abilities and backgrounds.
So far, over the past 3 years, our talented, respectful and dedicated students have already completed over 100 observations.
As Team PB is a learning school, where we are all in the business of education, both students and staff participate in learning and development on a daily basis. As students reflect on their learning they become more involved in the management of their own education. This unique role allows our students to contribute to the continued improvement of teaching and learning within our school. In addition, they collaboratively develop future teaching and learning targets that are delivered to staff during termly Teaching and Learning INSET mornings.
The work of the Student Voice Teaching and Learning team, has led to the development of our basic classroom routines, this, with the constructive, developmental feedback they give, enables all students in the building to have a better understanding of behaviour, expectations and progress within all lessons.
We feel that engaging students within lessons, planning, and involving them in change will, in turn, help them to achieve more and as a result, this will be reflected in higher examination grades.
