SEEKING SCIENCE: Gifted and Talented Pupils at Perry Beeches The Academy were given a science lesson with a twist this term. On Tuesday, October 2, year eight students at the site were visited by STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Ambassadors, as well as a series of speakers, as part of a memorable morning of science. The students were given the challenge in groups to build a bridge made out of newspaper that would hold weights. A series of 1kg weights were added and the winning team’s construction held 7kg. As part of the morning students were encouraged to consider the wealth of opportunities available to them in all STEM areas.
